Nearly 200,000 passengers expected to travel through BOI for Spring Break

Spring Break travel is taking off from the Boise Airport beginning today, and BOI expects to welcome nearly 200,000 passengers during the peak travel dates of March 10 to March 23.

If you are traveling through the Boise Airport over the next two weeks, please keep these travel tips in mind:

ARRIVE EARLY - 1.5 to 2 HOURS

Arrive 1.5 hours early if you are being dropped off at the airport or two hours early if you plan to park. Remember that parking may include a shuttle ride from the Economy Lot to the terminal. Planning accordingly will give you ample time to check-in with your airline and clear the security checkpoint before your flight.

PARKING AT BOI? KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Check the live feed of available parking capacity on the airport’s parking webpage before you arrive to help decide where to park. Don’t forget about the Economy Lot, which is serviced by a shuttle every 15 minutes. New this year, you can now track the airport’s shuttles using the PassioGo app, which tells you where the shuttle is located and how full it is.

Feeling crunched for time? Use the curbside valet or reserve a parking spot in advance, through The CarPark. Reservations are recommended for both services and can be made here.

If you are picking up passengers, please use the new cell phone waiting area, located next to the Economy Lot. The new location provides ample parking even during busy times and is 5-7 minutes from the terminal, similar to the amount of time it takes a passenger to exit the plane and walk to the curb.

CHECK WITH YOUR AIRLINE

Prior to arriving at BOI, please check the status of your flight with your airline. Passengers can also consider using their airline’s app to download a digital boarding pass and signing up for automated flight status updates.

PACK SMART

To avoid delays, passengers should view TSA’s “What Can I Bring?” page and begin packing with a bag that is empty to ensure you do not have any prohibited items.  Do not attempt to bring a firearm through a TSA checkpoint. Other prohibited items include explosives, flammables, knives, razors, replica weapons and more.
