Spring Break 2022: Getaway Tips from the Boise Airport

Boise, Idaho – Spring Break for many local school districts is right around the corner and the Boise Airport is excited to be the launchpad for the vacations that start from our gates—including welcoming passengers back that may not have traveled during the past two years. Below are a few tips to help your vacation memories start out as stress-free as possible:

AIRPORT PARKING WILL BE LIMITED

Construction is currently underway on additional parking garages to meet the needs of our traveling public. The construction-related closure of a surface lot that was previously used for long-term parking has temporarily decreased our parking capacity at the terminal. Remember to check the live-feed of available parking spaces on the airport’s parking page before you start driving to the airport, as it is likely you will need to utilize the Economy Parking Lot.

The Economy Lot is located at Victory and Orchard (5600 W. Victory Rd.) and is serviced by a free shuttle that runs every 15 minutes.

Passengers should also consider using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, taxis or other modes of transportation to enjoy an easy curbside drop off.

ARRIVE EARLY

We are expecting higher volumes of travelers during the spring break timeframe. Arrive 1.5 hours early if you are being dropped off at the airport or two hours early if you plan to park. Remember that parking may include a shuttle ride from the Economy Lot to the terminal. Planning accordingly will give you ample time to check-in with your airline and clear the security checkpoint before your flight.

WATCH FOR CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC

The new parking garage construction site is located adjacent to the Airport Loop. Please be aware of posted signage alerting you to lane closures, obey the speed limit and watch for large trucks entering and exiting the construction site.

COVID PROTOCOLS ARE STILL IN PLACE

While mask protocols are easing across the nation, the Boise Airport is still under a federal mandate that requires face coverings to be worn at all times in the airport and aboard your aircraft. Social distancing within the airport is also requested and TSA is allowing one oversized liquid hand sanitizer container, up to 12 ounces per passenger, in carry-on bags.
