Summer Travel Season Begins at Boise Airport
With summer arriving, students are getting out of school and family vacations are planned; which means increased travelers flying through the Boise Airport. The typical summer travel season runs Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Industry professionals expect a record number of passengers at airports this summer, with peak periods occurring in June and July. Through April 2017, passenger traffic is already up 6% over that timeframe last year at the Boise Airport.
“Flying through the Boise Airport is typically a quick and easy experience, however during peak periods the number of passengers increases”, said Airport Director Rebecca Hupp. “We want our passengers to begin their travel stress free, which is why it’s important to show up two hours before their departure time”.
With the increased passenger volumes during summer travel, delays at the airport may occur. The Transportation Security Administration encourages passengers to arrive two hours before their departure time and to double check their carry-on luggage to ensure that restricted items are not packed. Passengers should also check with their airlines to verify the status of their flight before arriving at the airport.
