New Flights Take Off at Boise Airport
Two airlines started service on Sunday, June 4 at the Boise Airport. Southwest Airlines began nonstop service to San Diego while Alaska Airlines added mainline service for one flight each day to Seattle.
Southwest’s San Diego service will operate one flight daily, Monday – Friday, utilizing a Boeing 737. Southwest Airlines joins Alaska Airlines as the two carriers providing nonstop service to San Diego.
Alaska has traded out a smaller regional jet for a Boeing 737 mainliner for the flight to Seattle. This upgauge in aircraft adds approximately 70 seats daily to the Seattle market. This change will impact just one of their eight daily flights to Seattle. They are one of two airlines to fly nonstop to Seattle, along with Delta Air Lines.
Southwest Airlines offers nonstop service to eight destinations from Boise; Denver, Las Vegas, Oakland, Phoenix, San Diego, Sacramento and Spokane, with seasonal service to Chicago Midway.
Alaska Airlines offers nonstop service to nine destinations from Boise; Lewiston, Portland, Reno, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Jose, Seattle and Spokane.
